Spatial Data Infrastructure Development in Africa. The Journey so far

Brief Bio

Andre Nonguierma is the Officer-in-Charge of the Geoinformation Systems Section at the United Nations Economic Commission of Africa. In this capacity, he serves in support of the formulation and implementation of policies and strategies on Geospatial Information Management (including spatial data infrastructures, standards and interoperability, modern geospatial technicalities, etc.) in Africa, both at national and regional level.

Mr Nonguierma bring more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of geospatial science and technology. His professional itinerary is highly focused on leveraging geospatial data, information, and analytics to support strategic decision-making across a range of application from the public sector to academia and the private sector.

Mr. Nonguierma has published several scientific papers and continues to conduct research activities on SDI, GIS, spatial analysis, Remote Sensing applications, space technologies and Earth Observation solutions to various socio-economic sectors.
